Nicola Home for Garnet Hill, Fall 2011 ...
sophisticated, simple, saturated in color and warmth.
When I consider purchasing anything for a project, I always ask myself, What does it say about the person who owns it? The pieces I choose say that their owner is someone you want to know. Someone unique, with a rich and varied life, someone with wonderful stories to tell.
These are not easy pieces to find or combine in artful ways. I am always searching for original and high quality fixtures, furniture and textiles—in salvage shops, antique stores and flea markets, in local studios and craft shops, in high end boutiques or from international artisans and workshops.
With Garnet Hill, I hope to make finding authentic and imaginative homewares possible for customers with busy lives and different tastes. I hope to empower customers to achieve an inspired and unifying look without shopping from seven different retail stores—or settling for the contrived, box-set look of many popular home style catalogs.
In suggesting different ways my pieces can be combined, altered or displayed. I hope to inspire customers to take risks, mix patterns and styles and consider color, light and texture. I want to convey how much I love what I do and engage Garnet Hill customers in a lifelong process of creating spaces that nurture their families and enchant their guests.
My spring bedding is now available online, in catalogs and in my new boutique Nicola Home. Click on the link below to shop the collection online.
